AfricArena will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of your Personal Data will take place to an organisation or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your data and other personal information.

 

Use of information about you during AfricArena events by Amazon Web Services: Please note that your contact details and other information we collect via our ticketing are subject to the use of Amazon Web Services. You consent to the collection, use and disclosure of the information you enter when registering for the different events by AfricArena and its affiliates (in particular Amazon Web Services Activate services) or service providers in accordance with the Privacy Notice. Those entities will use your contact information to send details and announcements to you related to the events. If you opt-in using the checkbox on the registration page, they may also communicate with you about other offers, events or services, and provide information about you to the sponsors of this Event who may also contact you. Please note that if the checkbox is left blank, but you are already eligible to receive email marketing communications, you will still receive these.

 

Disclosure Of Data Legal Requirements: AfricArena may disclose your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • Comply with a legal obligation

  • Protect and defend the rights or property of AfricArena

  • Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service

Communication of your personal data If you do provide Personal Data through one of our forms, such data may be shared with logistics partners and providers, who are contractually permitted to use such data solely in connection with organising and conducting Viva Technology’s activities.

 

AfricArena does not attempt to identify or share User information with any parties outside of AfricArena, except:

(i) In the event of a merger or sale of the company’s assets;

(ii) As required by law or as required in the course of officially authorized law enforcement investigations, (iii) In order to protect our rights.

 

Electronic Mail: When you send us Personal Data via e‐mail (that is, in a message containing a question or comment, or by filling out a form that e‐mails us this information), we use it to respond to your requests. We may forward your e‐mail to other employees of AfricArena who are better able to answer your questions. Information collected via e‐mail will be retained at our discretion in a directly readable form as long as necessary to complete our response.

 

Transfer of your personal data: Your Personal Data may be transferred outside of the South African Area, in order to provide the services requested or if it is required by applicable regulations. We ensure, in accordance with applicable regulations, that all appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure adequate protection of your Personal Data, have been taken.

 

Service Providers: We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service (“Service Providers”), to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.
